I grew up around a lot of action. Drinking, golfing, and incredibly loud music that has ruined me to anything calm. I like to think living in this community provided me with a sense of creativity that you are not just born with. I only started writing because I had something to write about, and something to inspire myself.
Not only did it give me good content, it gave me an opportunity to just sit back in a social situation and enjoy the beauty. I was taught at a very young age by no one or nothing in particular that it’s okay to be quiet when everyone else is talking because I was always listening. I took in words like a sponge takes in water, and even when the words were negative, I always appreciated them. Because at the end of the day, I was always learning something.
I decided to start a news page for Pleasant Lake because I wanted to write. I wanted to write about things that would actually benefit people. I wanted to give news that people actually cared about and found interest. Not only do I want the Pleasant Lake Post to be interesting, I want it to be convenient. People should be able to just find things about their community easily, and not have to search. With the Pleasant Lake Post, you can do that.

I would say that the first three-fourths of my lifetime were spent hung up on different “extravagant” dreams of a career later in my life.
One of the earlier careers that I remember being crazy about one day pursuing was education. I was absolutely obsessed with the idea of being able to help shape the young minds of tomorrow.
However, my interest in that path eventually ended up fading. Instead, I was adamant on becoming a school bus driver—as crazy as that was for a nine year old to dream of being.
However, there’s a common theme within those old hopes: people. I love helping people. Whether it be a friend, family member, a person with a disability, or just a random Joe, I love helping people.
There are many contributing factors as to why I decided to assist my close friend, Sully Wables, in the founding of this small-town publication.
One of the main reasons, in which I have been vocal about on many different occasions, is because I have a strong interest in journalism.
Journalism is one of those fields where you are able to help other people by delivering important information to those who you do not know, or otherwise would not be able to provide it to.
